Becky Swepston

I know I’ve only known Becky for ten years and 18 days, but to me it seems like nine weeks and five days. The first day seemed like a week and the second day seemed like five days. And the third day seemed like a week again and the fourth day seemed like eight days. And the fifth day you went to see your mother and that seemed just like a day, and then you came back and later on the sixth day, in the evening, when we saw each other, that started seeming like two days, so in the evening it seemed like two days spilling over into the next day and that started seeming like four days, so at the end of the sixth day on into the seventh day, it seemed like a total of five days. And the sixth day seemed like a week and a half. I have it written down, but I can show it to you tomorrow if you want to see it.

If Becky has seen the movie The Jerk, she is smiling right now. If she hasn’t, she is smiling anyway because now she understands the lines after the comma in the first sentence are all from Steve Martin as Navin R. Johnson. What a great movie.

I thought of those lines because as confusing as they are, they are about how time flies when everything is soooooo good. And things are fantabulous here at Explore. We recently celebrated Becky Swepston’s ten-year anniversary. Seems crazy when you do the math and wonder if we hired Becky when she was in 5^th grade. Ahh to be young and look even younger!

We were lucky to find Becky right out of DU and somehow convinced her to come work at Explore instead of continuing her education at the Daniels College of Business. In Becky’s ten years in our shop, she has sky-rocketed her career and role at a pace not ordinary in our industry. It has all been well-deserved and hard-earned by Becky. Her rapid ascension has been an integral part of Explore’s success over the last ten years. It has been fun to be part of Becky’s professional and personal growth and to see how that affects the rest of us in Explore, and with our clients and agency partners. It’s been an exciting ride and we are all super proud of Becky.

Besides rewarding Becky with accolades, drinks and orders to take a celebratory vacation we also promoted her to Associate Media Director. Becky has been servicing a huge client list over the years and will continue in that role while also taking on even more agency management responsibilities. Becky worked hard to get to this point in her career and this promotion best represents her role and importance to Explore.

Congratulations AMD Becky. Thank you for ten years and thank you in advance for the next ten! Also, I’m picking out a Thermos for you. Not an ordinary Thermos for you. But the extra best Thermos that you can buy, with vinyl and stripes and a cup built right in.
